The Centre offers personalised treatment for patients suffering from obesity, excess weight, as well as eating, metabolic and nutritional disorders.
The Medical and surgical centre for obesity offers patients a holistic approach to all obesity-related diseases overweight and eating behaviour. This multi-disciplinary approach is reflected by the presence of a wide range of specialists including endocrinologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, dietitians, surgeons and physiotherapists.

A multi-disciplinary team
The team at the Centre consists of specialists in the areas of obesity, metabolism, nutrition, psychotherapy, physiotherapy and surgery:
- 3 specialists in endocrinology, surgery and psychiatry
- 2 psychologists-psychotherapists
- 2 dieticians
- 1 team of physiotherapists
- 2 medical secretaries
Once a week, all the specialists convene to discuss each case. The patient is the focus of a multi-disciplinary approach to care.
Psychological and physical rehabilitation consultations are available in English and medical consultations in Italian.
The Medical and surgical center for obesity is also involved in research on obesity and overweight and in the training of professionals in the field.
Did you know?
If prescribed by your doctor, your basic health insurance will cover all outpatient services provided by the Medical and surgical centre for obesity, including consultations with the doctors and psychologists-psychotherapists.
If your BMI* is inferior to 30 kg/m² or if you do not suffer from a specific medical condition, nutrition consultations and certain physiotherapy sessions are only covered by the relevant complementary insurance.
